About D.Pharma
Diploma in Pharmacy from Sherwood College of Pharmacy is a career oriented, entry level diploma course. Students who plan to pursue a long term career in pharmaceuticals opt for this course as pharmacy continues to be a very promising field of medicine. The program prepares students to work as a licensed pharmacist in hospitals, community pharmacies and other pharmaceutical-related fields. On successful completion of the diploma, the student applies to the council and is awarded the status of a registered / licensed pharmacist.
Course Overview
This course has been divided in three parts. Part I and II deals with the theory and practical components of all the sciences involved in development, production, marketing, sales and distribution of pharmaceutical products. Part III is the most essential training part which involves training in hospital pharmacy / community pharmacy / hospitals.
(As per the Pharmacy Council of India this is an essential part of the course and subject to availability of seats students are provided on-the-job-training / internship in an institute of repute).
During the course of practical training the trainee is given exposure to -
- knowledge of record keeping
- practical experience in proper use of common pharmaceutical apparatus
- reading, understanding, copying and dispensing of prescription
- storage of drugs and medical preparations
